OLLI-CSUF members have rich life experiences and family histories waiting to be explored and
preserved creatively. This course offers a unique blend of historical research, personal reflection, and creative writing that can deepen their appreciation of heritage while honing storytelling skills. It fosters intellectual engagement, creativity, and community building. Additionally, the focus on historical fiction grounded in real events encourages a meaningful connection to both personal identity and broader cultural narratives. This lecture offers practical tools for writing and includes: 1. Understanding Historical Fiction, 2. Unearthing Family Stories, 3. Weaving History with Fiction and 4. Guided Exercise and Group Sharing.
