Meditation can transform your life in a positive and lasting way. Practiced regularly, meditation has been proven to affect your psychological well-being by reducing stress, depression, anxiety, blood pressure and addictions. It also boosts the immune system, improves memory and brain function, and helps deal with chronic pain. Meditation is a simple way of training your mind and can be practiced by everyone. Meet at 3:15 p.m. to set up the room; class will start at 3:30 p.m.

This semester we will focus on meditations to awaken joy and happiness. We will follow the curriculum of the Awakening Joy course as developed by James Baraz and Shoshana Alexander and will use their book,  Awakening Joy: 10 Steps to Happiness, as guide and inspiration. It is recommended, but not required, that you purchase the book for reference, further reading, and to support and inspire your practice.
