Meditation is a simple and relaxing way of training your mind for a more joyful and peaceful life. Numerous scientific studies have shown that meditation, practiced regularly, can improve your mental as well as physical well-being. Studies conducted in university labs and hospitals have shown that meditation will reduce stress, depression, anxiety and blood pressure. Meditation will also improve memory and brain function, will boost the immune system and help people deal with chronic pain. Meditation is now being offered in schools and universities, hospitals, large companies and even the military. We will explore different kinds of meditation including mindfulness, visualizations, meditation with sound, walking meditation and loving kindness meditation. Beginners and experienced meditators are welcome. Meet at 3:15 p.m. to set up the room; class will start at 3:30 p.m.
