“French 1” is for beginners who have little or no French language skills. Today, many French people in tourist areas speak English. Then why study French? To demonstrate appreciation for their culture and thus put a smile on their faces. To create a positive atmosphere for communication you do not need a lot of French, but it’s important to pronounce those expressions that you do know the “French way”. Therefore this course emphasizes pronunciation rather than grammar.
