The Healing Psalms discuss the historic role this treasured literature has held in recovery as they provide insight into the human condition and deal with every imaginable crisis. Psalms 30:2 says, “Lord, my God, I called to you for help, and you healed me.” Yet the Psalms provide empathy regardless of religious affiliation. Love, forgiveness, gratitude and joy are among the Psalms’ virtues that encourage resilience and inspire hope. The Healing Psalms speak to the hope that can be found in the midst of suffering. Psalms 30:5 says, “Weeping may endure for the night, but joy comes in the morning.”
