Alternate Tuesdays • 9:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. • Room 21
Instructor: Anita Reyes

Join this warm, supportive class and start writing down the stories of your life, two pages at a time!

Each workshop session is arranged in two parts. The first part consists of presentations in which you'll learn how to write an effective story, design your book pages, include your own photographs, find resources on the Internet, design a book cover and print and copyright your book. After the orientation in Session 1, you'll be writing your two-page life stories prior to each session. In the second part of each session, you'll share your stories in your small reading group. The small group provides a powerful experience in which you'll connect with others through their stories and discover a treasure trove of ideas for writing your own. At the end of the six-session workshop series, you may bind your little collection of stories into a beautiful hard cover book to share with your family. Multiple copies of your book can be created as treasured gifts for children and grandchildren.

The workshops are taught by writer/Ph.D. candidate/grandmother, Anita Reyes, and a special team of dedicated group leaders. No writing experience is necessary. Step-by-step instructions and guidance will be provided. Basic computer skills are helpful but not required.

There is a $25 materials fee for handouts and bookmaking supplies payable to the instructor on the first day. Space in the workshops is limited. Please sign up in the OLLI office. For more information, you may telephone Anita at (949) 488-0270 or email her at anitareyes@cox.net.
