EXPLORATORY DISCUSSION GROUP
PHILOSOPHY OF RELIGION
Every Monday • 1:15 p.m. - 3:15 p.m. • Shapiro Wing CD
Coordinators: Len Leventhal, Marvin Marsh, Barbara Talento, Andy Washington
The theme for the Exploratory Discussion Group this semester is the Philosophy of Religion. The central questions of the lectures on DVDs as presented by Dr. James Hall, from the Department of Philosophy, University of Richmond are:
Can humans know whether the claim "God exists" is true or not? If so, how? If not, why not?
During the fall semester Professor Hall will discuss the arguments for the belief in God by everyday experience and divine encounters, and the arguments against belief in God due to the existence of evil. And as the name of our class implies, the viewing of the DVDs will be followed by a thought provoking discussion.
So be prepared for opinions that you can either strongly support or strongly oppose. In either case, it will get your blood flowing and your brain operating on all cylinders.
