This program is being presented by the Golden Hearts organization for the benefit of all OLLI members, but specifically for the Baby Boomer members of OLLI. The Golden Hearts organization is a St. Jude Medical Center support group with the mission to educate the community regarding heart disease and stroke. Because of the increased number of Baby Boomers entering the age of increasing need for medical care, the Golden Hearts organization is expanding its scope to include other common medical problems of the Baby Boomer generation; thus the inclusion in this series of orthopedic problems common to this generation in addition to subjects relative to cardiology and stroke. Each of these broad areas of interest (cardiology, stroke and orthopedic problems) with new research, technology, medications, professional know-how and education are to a great extent preventable and treatable. These subjects will be discussed in layman terms by experienced, well-trained St. Jude Medical Center specialists in cardiology, rehabilitation, rheumatology and orthopedics.
