Take better pictures with your digital camera. Explore digital photography from camera details to how to take better photographs to how to do basic editing of your photographs.
This course explores basic photography in the digital world. Learn to better understand your digital camera’s advantages, disadvantages, features, settings and vocabulary. We will blend fundamental theory and practical hands-on work. We’ll take photographs under different conditions; get the photographs into and out of a digital camera and personal computer; discuss different organizing methods for the many photographs you take; do basic picture editing; and explore alternatives for viewing, printing and saving photographs. There are lots of options in your digital camera; know what they are and when and how to use them. Recognize when “fully automatic” is the best strategy and when to take control. There are eight meetings of which three will be in the computer labs.
Class size limits: Windows users: 10; Mac users: 6
8-session class, 1 day a week
* Because this class uses only limited computer time, the cost will be $10 for the eight lessons instead of the usual $35.
